Home Energy Audit / Home Performance Audit:
An energy audit is an Unbiased, in-depth look at your home, not just an IR scan, walkthrough, or blower door test.
Unless a contractor has asked us to look at specific issues with your home, what we typically include in our energy audits as of June 2024, include:
Discuss your concerns
Air infiltration testing is commonly known as a blower door test.
Infra-red inspection of the home.
Ventilation testing measuring exhaust fan airflows such as your bath fans.
Indoor Air quality testing for health, comfort, and safety.
Combustion Safety Testing Natural gas, draft, worst-case depressurization, and carbon monoxide.
Discuss the findings with you and address your concerns
Provide a professional easy to read report
*Most Additional testing to get to the bottom of your home's issues as needed at no additional cost. **limitations apply
Consider adding one of our other services to your audit to make it even more comprehensive

Home Inspections:
A non-invasive assessment of the home's accessible structure, systems, and components. While a home inspection cannot identify every possible issue, it will provide you with valuable insights about the investment you are about to make. Additionally, we are proud members of the SE WI chapter of InterNACHI, the world’s leading association for home inspectors.

Mold and Air Quality Inspection:

We start our inspection by identifying the causes of the issues. Then, we take indoor air quality (IAQ) and slide samples, which are sent to a lab for analysis. Sampling takes less than an hour and can easily be combined with another inspection.
You will usually receive the report within two days. Please note that mold tests only apply to the specific areas tested.

Chimney Inspection:
We will use advanced technology to inspect your fireplace and chimney, including a specialized camera to view the interior. This will help identify any issues or confirm that your fireplace is in good working condition.

Electrical Panel Mapping:
Wondering why your breaker keeps tripping? If your home has undergone significant work or you’re planning improvements, it may be time to assess your electrical circuits. Our panel mapping service can help identify overloaded or under-utilized circuits, potentially saving you money on a new sub panel. Plus, we provide a new panel card to replace your outdated one.

Pre-Drywall Inspection
To ensure a house is built according to specifications, a pre-drywall inspection is crucial. This phase occurs after the installation of elements like doors, windows, and plumbing, but before the drywall is hung. Conducting this inspection is important because once the drywall is in place, it can hide potential issues, making them difficult and costly to fix later on.

You can also add-on one of our inspections to a scheduled inspection.

Energy Audit post test:
Confirm that results align with expectations and retest the air infiltration rate along with other necessary factors to measure improvement since the last inspection.

Gas leakage testing potential gas leaks:

Using a professional-grade gas sniffer, we will inspect the exposed gas lines and gas meter in your home. If we detect a leak, we will apply a solution to the suspect area to confirm it. We will then mark the location for your plumber or professional contractor to repair it. This process typically takes an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Duct leakage test add on:
A duct leakage test measures the airtightness of HVAC ductwork, ensuring that the heated or cooled air you've paid for is effectively delivered to your space.

Radon test

Radon is a natural gas and the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the U.S. It's estimated that one in 15 homes has elevated radon levels. The Surgeon General and the Environmental Protection Agency recommend testing all homes. A 48-hour radon test is advised.
Mold testing:

We utilize AI in our unique testing and identification process. Indoor air quality (IAQ) and slide samples are collected and sent to a lab for analysis. There, both AI and a certified indoor air quality expert examine the samples. The final report includes a detailed analysis and magnified images of the pollutants.
Expert air test analysis available:
The certified indoor air quality and mold expert who analyzed your air sample test results can discuss them with you in a half-hour one-on-one phone conversation. This conversation is in addition to the detailed report you will typically receive based on the samples we collected, and there will be an extra charge for this service.

Chimney inspection:
A level-one chimney inspection includes a visual check of the fireplace and chimney without any special equipment or climbing up on the roof. The inspector will come to your house with a flashlight, look for damage, obstructions, creosote buildup, and soot, and tell you if the chimney requires sweeping. (1-2 hours extra)

Electrical panel labeling:
Labeling the circuit loads in your home's electrical panel may seem simple, but are you sure they're accurate and not overloaded? This service can identify overloaded or underutilized circuits, saving you money and improving safety. You'll also receive a new panel card labeling each breaker.
